Company History

TAP was formed in November 2005 by three partners to explore for shallow natural gas reserves in south Texas. After 18 months of fund raising and prospect evaluation, we commenced the drilling of our first well, the North Loeher Ranch #1, a 3200’ test well in Goliad County, TX. The results were positive, and led to a seven well field development. The Loeher #1 remains a tribute to hard work and perseverance, principles that continue to guide our company year after year.

With our first development in full production, we were able to expand our focus to include additional strategies across a broad spectrum in the central U.S. These strategies include water flood, production acquisition, forced pooling, horizontal drilling, surface discharge, fracture stimulation, artificial lift and exploration and development. We have had success with all of these approaches since 2006. Casting such a wide net has allowed us to access a vast array of industry relationships and expertise, magnifying our own resources and allowing us to access the highest quality, cutting edge plays in the U.S., both on and offshore. Since our first discovery, TAP has grown at a compounded rate of nearly 100% per year. We now have approximately 80 producing oil and gas wells in Wyoming, Kansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Texas.
